Save on a resolution-helper

Did you vow to eat more healthfully in the new year? Who didn’t? Luckily, Amazon.com is having a great sale on some kitchen items that can help you reach your goal. The Oxo Good Grips Salad Spinner is $20, down from $33.50 (a 40 percent savings!). Also on sale is a Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus Food Processor — it’s $37, down from $60, saving you 38 percent. I use my Mini-Prep to make salad dressings, so it’s perfect to go along with the salad spinner. Buy them both, and you qualify for free shipping. Happy New Year!

Exclusive savings on cereal

We eat a lot of cereal in my house – and I mean, a lot. It’s breakfast, a snack, sometimes even dinner. So I’m always on the lookout for ways to save on it. The folks over at Mom’s Best Naturals understand, and they’re offering All You readers an exclusive coupon – save 75 cents on any of their dozen varieties of cereal. There are 5,000 coupons available for download here, and they’re good through May 31, 2010, so go get yours. The best part? The cereals are all delicious (my fave: Honey Nut Toasty O’s), and they’re all made without hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup or any other yucky ingredients you don’t need. Enjoy!

Get paid for being green at CVS

Get paid for being greenA new program at CVS will pay you for not using plastic shopping bags.

Here’s how it works: For 99 cents, buy a “GreenBagTag” at any CVS story. Clip it on to your key ring or a cloth shopping bag. Each time you complete a purchase and don’t take a plastic shopping bag, the cashier will scan your tag. For every four times you go green, you’ll earn $1 in ExtraCare bucks, redeemable on future CVS purchases.

To participate, you must be a member of CVS’s ExtraCare program, but it’s a snap to sign up. Go to CVS.com and click on “Get your ExtraCare Rewards today” in the top bar.

Halloween Countdown: Have a horror movie night at home

witchs-purse-1875216-l18 days until Halloween!

Save some money on your date night this month and instead rent classic Halloween horror flicks to watch after the kids go to bed. Serve up some adult appetizers like Voodoo Fondue for only $1.05 per serving and Witch’s Purse for only $1.17 per serving. Interview with the Vampire and The Shining will get you in the Halloween spirit, but remember that these movies are not for the faint of heart. Be sure to have a nightlight ready, just in case!
