Manage your money for free
I’m hooked on mint.com, an online money management and budget-planning site that categorizes and graphs all your finances automatically each day. Now I can see how much money I spend on food (yikes!), entertainment, shopping and much more. Get happy with an iPhone app
Download the free trial version of Live Happy, an iPhone application that offers feel-good tips based on research conducted by Sonja Lyubomirksy, a psychologist and the author of The How of Happiness. The app prompts you to do mood-boosting activities, such as typing out your thoughts about a recent happy memory or e-mailing a thank-you note to friend. You can also set and keep track of your happiness goals, record acts of kindness in a journal and take surveys to assess your happiness level and personality traits. The free version lets you complete up to 40 different activities; after that, upgrade to the full version for $6.99 to do more entries and to ask Lyubomirksy questions.
