Like the Snuggie? Take a look at the Snuggle Suit

Hate it or love it (I have no shame—I’m head-over-heels infatuated with it!), the proclaimed “blanket with sleeves” has proven to be a hot commodity in stores. Consumers have purchased about 20 million Snuggies since they hit the market in 2008. And if you think Snuggie mania is on the verge of retirement, think again.

The blanket with sleeves has given birth to the bathrobe with pants.

Fresh for 2010 is JCPenney’s Snuggle Suit, an ultra-comfy jumpsuit that comes in black, hot pink, blue and red (currently on sale for $24.99, originally $60).

The Snuggle Suit’s full-body coverage gives you the ability to sport this romper all around the house and, for the very bold, perhaps even outside the home too. This is an upgrade from the Snuggie’s open back, which somewhat limits your movement to the couch (unless you desire to look like a wizard/monk gone rogue.)

Can’t bear the thought of being seen wearing a Snuggie or Snuggle Suit? Try an oversized sweater that’s warm and cozy —like a blanket—but also chic and stylish! Pair it with leggings or belt it at the waist, and you’ve got a Snuggie for the fashion inclined.

Five ways to beat winter itch

The winter months take a toll on us, such as hectic holiday shopping and big delicious meals, but the weather outside takes a toll on our skin too—namely moisture.

Here’s how to prepare for the cruel months on the cheap:
1. Switch on a humidifier in your bedroom. Dry indoor heating sucks moisture.

2. Opt for short, lukewarm showers. Hot water will dry out your skin.

3. Use a non-soap cleanser. Traditional soaps strip the top protective layer of the skin. My go-to bar of soap: Dove’s classic beauty bar. ($2.24 at Walgreens.com)

4. Slick on a thick moisturizer while the skin’s slightly damp. It’ll lock moisture in better.

5. Avoid wearing wool sweaters directly on bare skin—the itchy fibers can irritate.
