Now this is ridiculous. Everyone’s favorite Full House cuties-turned-fashion-queens have outdone themselves this time. In a collaboration with English artist Damien Hirst, the twins’ brand, The Row, has released a backpack through online retailer Just One Eye that is covered in prescription pills and going for the small price of just… $55,000. Ick.

Not only is this asking price outrageous for an item that looks like your day-by-day pill organizer just unloaded on it, but this statement piece also carries a controversial message. Even though the pills were the brainchild of Hirst, how does it look that MK and Ash are peddling a product that is glamorizing the world of prescription medication?
Those of us who depend on medication as directed could be insulted that they are making light of illness, and others with impressionable minds could get the wrong idea. The abuse of prescription drugs is running rampant across our country, and now our youth see their favorite teen idols cashing in on this vices. Not that the Olsens have been great roll-models in recent years anyway. What societal commentary is Hirst trying to make here?

On the other hand, this bag is only one of a bunch in the collaboration between the designers and the artist, and an unspecified portion of the proceeds is being donated to UNICEF. Does that make it better?
What do you think? Does the charity aspect render this price reasonable? Are the Olsens making a profit in bad taste? Is this just an expression of art gone too far?

What In The World Were They Thinking Or Smoking?? This Is A Slap in The Face To Every Normal Human Being!! I Would NOT Pay 2 cents for it!! Have More Dignity For The World Please!!
Strange. Sad & strange.
Damien Hirst is known for being controversial. He could be make the parallel between designer handbags and designer drugs. Kind of tacky coming from the Olsen twins, considering the whole Heath Ledger connection. But they certainly managed to get people talking, which I’m guessing was the main goal in the first place.
wondering who or how they got all the scripts for drugs they don’t need…isn’t that illegal to do?
Another sad and stupid attempt to be cute at the expense of impressionable youth…Prescription drug abuse killing our young people. DR MARIO you did what you were supposed to i guess, hooked a whole generation on pills.
