Like a lot of folks, I have really dry hands, no matter the season. And all the advice we’ve been getting to constantly wash up as a defense against a host of illnesses doesn’t help matters. I tried all kinds of products to use, it seemed, dozens of times a day, and finally hit on Kiehl’s Ultimate Strength Hand Salve ($19.50 for 5 oz.; kiehls.com). It’s great, but pricey. So to help out my hands and my budget, I’ve settled on an old standby, Nivea Crème (yes, it’s still comes in the blue jar), and I find it works just as well for me as the more expensive formulas.
