I just learned about this amazing service. Save it to your cell phone now, so you’ll never have to think about it again.
Dialing 1-800-FREE411 not only skips the $2 charge for directory assistance, you can also get voice-activated MapQuest directions to any place in the U.S. You don’t need web access at all! You can even have the directions sent to your cell phone via text after the call. Pretty cool, eh?

Thanks for the post. People should be aware, though, that I used it ONCE and I’ve been getting spam text messages on my phone ever since and I get charged for text messages, so over the past year or so I’ve really paid for that mistake big time.

i live and die byt his service. i dont have a gps and this saves me everytime. it is voice activated so be prepared to repeat things but i have never had a problem with spam from them .
one note: mapquest is no longer available in my area (midwest) it will just text you the address and phone number
