Save now on Christmas décor

christmas decorations“The early bird catches the worm,” or so the saying goes. And if you start planning for Christmas now, you can also catch some great sales. At Michaels craft stores, you can save 50 percent through November 22 on items like faux-pine garlands, wreaths and trees. Cheery Christmas-theme vases and baskets are 40 percent off; use them for centerpieces or to hold cookies or other gifts you make for friends and family. You can also sign up at michaels.com for additional e-mail discounts.

Check out Pier 1 and you’ll find pretty throw pillows to liven up your house for the holidays for less than $5 a pop, scented candles starting at $.79 and small sizes of Prann beauty products for as little as $1.50 (great for stocking stuffers).

Pottery Barn is offering free shipping on adorable red or green velvet Christmas stockings in small ($9) and larger ($15); monograms are a bit extra. The store is also waiving shipping charges on items like their Wood Gallery frames (starting at $16), bathrobes (starting at $35) and a whole host of other household and gift items. So while you’re checking that gift list twice, be sure to check online at your favorite stores first, since many retailers are already in a giving mood.
